I have found that the forests around Oslo produce a variety of strange and wonderful fungi. This post is dedicated to the assortment of mushrooms and other peculiar fungal growth I came across this past fall.
Yello fans in the crack of a large oak tree
Rainbow-colored, fan-shaped specimens on a dead tree trunk
This lilac-colored mushroom reveals its gills
Lots and lots of happy fungi on this living tree
A view from overhead of this brown-capped mushroom
This mushroom had been nibbled on
Fluorescent orange-tipped fungi
This mushroom was really tiny!
I am pretty sure this vivid-colored mushroom is poisonous
This fungus reminded me of a horse hoof
This cluster of mushrooms had trails of slime
This mushroom reminds me of an inside-out umbrella
View from above of the tree-trunk fungi
More purple fungi that look like horse hooves to me
This is my all-time favorite mushroom I’ve ever seen
