Scandic Views – In the Abstract
Here is a collection of abstract images taken around Oslo and Stockholm.
A detail of the wooden logs comprising the walls of an old-fashioned house in the open-air museum of Skansen in Stockholm Snow, clinging to a stone wall at Hvervenbukta strand in Oslo A mural at Filipstad Kai in Oslo, reflected in the nearby fjord Deep ripple patterns in the sand one day at Hvervenbukta strand in Oslo A cool zinc-clad, undulating rooftop on a modern culture-slash-sports arena in Oslo Snow drifts in the playground of our local elementary school, enclosed by chain link fencingOverhead view of part of an oil spill on asphalt near a construction area in central Oslo Pillars fronting thick fog over the fjord at a modern apartment complex at the tip of the Tjuvholmen neighborhood in Oslo An external, blue staircase spirals up a building in central Oslo Black and yellow pipes stacked next to a color-coordinated exterior wall in Stockholm The exterior of an apartment complex in Oslo with the cloudy sky reflected in the window panes Shadows made by the textured columns outside a University building in central Oslo Macro shot of some thinly sliced radishes I went on to ferment An even closer look at the parachute structures in a dandelion seed head (that I posted other images of in a previous post) Literal razor-sharp fencing surrounding the Oslo fengsel (prison) Mottled colors on a horse’s face and chest at Søndre Aas Gård in Oslo Blue garage, red house in Oslo Monochromatic view of Hosta leaves in one of the gardens at the Slottsparken in Oslo Cubes of broken (safety?) glass in the gutter of a street in Oslo

My favourite subjects tend to be landscapes and nature - but I enjoy capturing urban scenes, architecture, abstract shapes and street art as well. View all posts by kewtiebird

This caught my eye on your home page. You have a great eye for distilling the essence of things. It’s a really nice series. 🙂
Amazing photos here. The quality of your shots is very high and so professional. I particularly liked the first (love the colours on those logs) and the eye you have for detail ( the prison wall and the yellow and black pipes).
