EuroTripping – London Art & Sculpture

While we visited London at the beginning of July during our European road trip, we did our best to stay away from the overly-crowded sites like the numerous wonderful museums (which I will visit the next time I find myself in London outside the busy tourist season).

We did, however, visit the Tate Modern and a gallery called White Cube and, of course, had the pleasure of viewing street art as well as sculpture during our planned walking tours.

Here is a small collection of some of the art and sculpture (from exhibited work to graffiti) we came across during our time in London.

A piece by Al Held at the White Cube

A colourful and wistful mural on Brick Lane

A sculpture called Ant Car (by Joe Rush) at Vinegar Yard in Bermondsey

A really nice bit of work by graffiti artist Slae.one in the Leake Street Tunnel

Looking up from inside Richard Serra’s sculpture Fulcrum outside Liverpool Street station

Side view of Newton, a sculpture by Eduardo Paolozzi, which sits outside the British Library

Sir Winston Churchill (sculpture by Ivor Roberts-Jones) is having one of those days

Some famous landmarks as captured by photographer Tseng Kwong Chi in the Tate Modern

Graffiti doodle outside White Cube

A piece by Leonardo Drew titled Number 185 in the Tate Modern

Another look at Newton

Lookup at Fulcrum from outside its panels

Mirrors installed at Gasholder No 8 reflect the grass: what’s down is up

Some typical, colorful graffiti along a train bridge in Shoreditch

An almost electric-coloured fox in the Leake Street graffiti tunnel

Another work by Al Held in White Cube

  1. Love the photos! I really like the brick lane mural and the fox. I’m a big fan of those shades of red and blue. I’m actually trying to get a big cabinet painting done and I want to find a way to get those colors in my kitchen without it feeling too bold. Thanks for sharing!
