Last summer, we spent 3 weeks in on a road trip around part of Europe. The 13th city we visited was Bremen, a small town in the northwest corner of Germany.
We needed a place to spend the night as we were making our way back to Oslo and chose this charming city we had never visited. Our hotel was near the Hauptbahnhof and we just had a few hours walking the dog down to the city centre to see a bit of the historic Altstadt, or Old Town, to acquaint ourselves with Bremen.
Unlike most of the other cities we visited on this adventure, we had no plan or notion of what to see in Bremen so it is guaranteed that we missed a lot of hidden jewels — a good excuse to return next time we are in western Germany.
Here are some scenes from our evening walk around Bremen’s old town from our brief overnight stay last July.

Fabulous place and photos!
