Stockholm – Details in the Tunnelbana

We stayed for a week in Stockholm last summer. Here are images of details I noticed while traveling around in the metro system (Tunnelbana). Oh, and I threw in a shot of a colourfully decorated bus stop as well.

Bus stop at Stureplan
(As PRIDE month is underway, this colourful bus stop, decorated for last year’s celebration, seems an appropriate way to start off the post)

Thorildsplan, one of 3 street-level surface stations in central Stockholm (“8 bit” artwork by Lars Arrhenius)

Escalating into Västra skogen (on one of the longest escalators in western Europe)

Patterns on the wall at Tekniska Högskolan station

Kungsträdgården station is the deepest in Stockholm (and has moss growing on the walls)

Benches at Tekniska Högskolan station

Bench and trash receptacle at Fridhemsplan station

Benches and receptacles at Stadion station

T-Centralen (electric blue walls)

Västra Skogen

T-Centralen (with decorative details)

T-Centralen (with different decorative details)

More PRIDE in Stadion station (by artists Åke Pallarp and Enno Hallek)

Different view of Tekniska Högskolen (art by Lennard Mörk)

Another view of Station station

Fun detail in T-Centralen station

Escalators in Stockholm City, a commuter rail station located under T-Centralen
