Fall Break – Undredal & Ulvik

Last fall, while we were staying in the Norwegian mountains of Vestlandet, we visited two different small villages.

Undredal sits on the Aurlandsfjord and is known for the tiny stave church (although it has a different “look” than most stave churches), while Ulvik is found at the end of Hardangerfjord and is known for its fruit orchards.

Here are a few photos from our brief visits to Undredal and Ulvik, as well as a couple of sights seen en route.

A tiny hytte at the edge of Aurlandsfjorden

A group touring the fjord near Undredal

The Undredal stavkirke in the bright fall sunshine

Patterns and colors in the sunlight

A wee bit of snow dusting the mountain across the fjord from Undredal

Granvin church reflected in the water, seen as we drove to Ulvik

The water was so still, the reflections were fabulous

Ulvik Kyrkje nestled in the hills and trees

Empty lounge chairs enjoying a pretty view

Howdya like them apples?
