While in Sweden for a week back in April, we visited an ancient set of stones located east of Ystad, where we were based.
Called Ale’s Stones (Ales Stenar), this oval monument of 59 stones, dated to over a thousand years ago, are arranged on a bluff overlooking the Baltic Sea.
We visited on a bright, sunny afternoon and with that harsh lighting, I knew I’d likely edit most of the shots in black and white.
Here are a few images taken during our visit to Ale’s Stones in the Skåne region of Sweden.

What a wonderful place to photograph! You did a great job spending some time to make several different views and compositions.

Thanks so much! (I wanted to try and hide the people hanging out next to the rocks who never seemed to want to move. I was glad the rocks were so large… 😉)

The compositions I like best in this fine set are the last two: the long row high in the frame and the opens space in the last angled view. Love the B&W presentation.

B&W leaves more for the minds eye to imagine. More interactive.
Nice study.

Great idea to turn the pics into monochrome when the light is strong.
It is an impressive spectacle by any measure.
