This past August, we took our EV on a ferry over to the Swedish island of Gotland for a week-long stay. Our home base was in the port city of Visby, which includes a very well-preserved medieval town that was once an important Hanseatic hub of trade in the Baltic region.
The old town, still ringed by a protective city wall, is quite enchanting with its cute houses — many with climbing rose bushes, hollyhocks, or leafy vines — as well as numerous old church ruins. We enjoyed exploring the narrow cobblestone streets, which wound up and down the quite expansive, hilly village.
With so much eye candy, this first look focuses on images of the colorful houses and blooming bushes we strolled by in Visby’s old town this past summer.

WOW! What a lovely collection of quaint little houses. I’d love to live in any of them. Excellent photos and post kewtiebird!

So lovely houses you have photographed. They are truly the ones that I think as Swedish houses 🙂 I have never visited in Gotland, but would like to go there. May be some day…

It is very Danish – but not surprising given the history of the region. Can it get any cuter?
