EuroTripping – Lucerne

On our “European Pretzel” this past summer, we decided to explore Lucerne after our hike down to the town of Engelberg (the topic of last week’s post) before heading back to our home base just outside Basel.

We only spent a short time wandering about but we did cross both covered bridges over the river Reuss and meandered by some of the painted facades in the Old Town and I found myself quite charmed.

Here are some images shot while strolling around Lucerne, Switzerland back at the end of June.

  5. Lucerne is a picturesque city. I only saw it in winter, so the blue sky hid away! Structures like the Chapel bridge stand out beautiful against the contrasting blue.
    I remember a delicious and very large servings of cheese fondue at one of the buildings with the painted facade!

    1. I think I’d much rather have seen it in the winter (we were there in the midst of a heatwave) but it was lovely even in the muggy heat. We also found some tasty food there — also making the weather more bearable. Thanks for your visit and comment!!
