EuroTripping – Sargans to Salzburg

Continuing our “European Pretzel” after staying some days outside Basel back in the summer, we spent two days driving our way towards our next home base in Vienna.

We drove out of Switzerland, stopping briefly in Sargans before driving through tiny Liechtenstein, and then into Austria where we overnighted outside Innsbruck. Then we wound our way past some interesting sights as we began to cross Austria, and stopped for a very, very hot — and short — wander in Salzburg before making it to our next temporary home.

Here are images of sights seen along the way, from our last peek at Switzerland in the border town of Sargans all the way to Salzburg Austria, late this past June.

  1. Schloss Sargans looks austere and imposing compared to the other beauties you have featured here. Incredible sights that really scream European classical architecture. I was impressed with the architectural beauty of Salzburg. Everything well maintained too!

  2. I especially loved the Krimmler waterfall valley and the Festung Hohenwerfen images in this set. I lived in Vienna for 6 months a long time ago, but I never made it out to the countryside. Now I see what I missed!
