While on our European road trip, we spent almost a week in London. We walked around a lot and among the images I snapped, there were a number of shots I would categorize as “street” photography. Here, then, are some of the London street shots taken back in early July.

What an excellent collection! I love the way you have incorporated humans (and a cat!) in the scenes.

Ha! Yes, that cat demanded my attention (and got it! 😸). Thank you for your kind comment.

I especially like the moody B&W street (and tunnel) scenes. Do you know Bill Brandt’s London street scenes?

Many thanks! As far as Bill Brandt, I feel like I’ve come across his name (I’m terrible with names) and just now looked him up and his shot of a house fronted by a sloping road seemed familiar to me but I’m not really familiar with his work. I’ll check him out. 😃

The sloping road in that image is called a “snicket”. There are lots more street scenes by Brandt from the 3o’s and 40’s. Michael Kenna also did his version of the scene: https://collections.britishart.yale.edu/catalog/tms:81029
